Montessori Early Childhood Conference

The premier annual event for Montessori early childhood educators.

This year’s conference theme is ‘Learning is Child’s Play’ which will focus on what we as Montessorians mean by play and how to optimise this for a child’s development.

We are thrilled that Prof. Laura Flores Shaw is able to return to Australia to join us once again for this event.  We also welcome Marc Armitage from Malarkey Playwork, a professional playworker and international children’s play consultant. Our other special guest speakers include Prof. Tony Okely, Sarah Breckenridge, Peta Gibson and Pamela Nunn. Come and join us at Australia’s playground, the Gold Coast, host to the 2018 Commonwealth Games, for work and play.

Join us on Saturday, 17 March from 8:00am for an 8:45am start to the conference plenary day.

The Conference Reception with canapés and drinks will be held from 5:00pm - 7:00pm on the Saturday evening to unwind and socialise with fellow Montessorians.  This will be a fun 'games' themed event so get involved!

On Sunday, 18 March, we run two sessions of a choice of 3 concurrent workshops, then we conclude at 12:45pm where delegates are free to leave or enjoy the sunny Gold Coast.

For those that arrive on the Friday prior, we'll have an informal welcome at 6pm, listening to cool toons from the DJ in the Stingray Lounge.

REGISTRATIONS CLOSE FRIDAY, 9 MARCH.

Note: The QT Gold Coast hotel is now fully booked on the night of 17 March. An alternate option may be the Vibe Gold Coast (no conference rates applicable).
