Hills Montessori was established in 1979 and offers a child-orientated program that follows the Montessori philosophy and the development of the child. Both programs are directed by the head of School who is AMI trained. All pre-school classrooms have a teacher and an educator that hold an Early Childhood teacher Degree and/or a Montessori Diploma with an Early Childhood qualification in Certificate III or a Diploma.
Our pre-school closes for school holidays in line with the NSW Government school terms.
Parent/Toddler Program
The program operates 5 mornings each week between 9.30am and 11.30am. A qualified educator takes these classes which cater for both the parent and their toddler.
Half Day Pre-school Program
We have 1 x half day class operating from 8.30am to 11.30am. The 3 and 4 year old children attend every day, Monday to Friday for half a day.
This class has up to 23 children. It is in the child’s best interest for their development to remain at the school for the full three years. The last year in particular completes their cycle of learning and consolidates the skills they have been acquiring over the preceding two years. The third year of this program is Kindergarten.
Full Day Pre-school Program
This program offers 2 or 3 full days of pre-school education for children aged between 3 and 5 years of age with priority given to 4 and 5 year old children in their year prior to starting school. This is a school readiness program learning through the Montessori philosophy and program.
Kindergarten
Our Kindergarten class operates from 8.30am to 2.30pm, Monday to Friday during school terms with priority given to children attending our pre-school. The Kindergarten class is registered with the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA). All Kindergarten children attend 5 days a week.
Before and After Session Care
Before and After Session Care is available on a permanent or casual basis for children requiring additional care before or after their regular class. Care is from 7.30am and up to 4.30pm each day.
