Established in 1975, our Montessori Kindergarten has a proud tradition of providing high-quality, authentic Montessori education. Nestled in a leafy setting next to a sporting reserve, our school offers an environment that nurtures both academic growth and personal development.
Early Starter Program (18 months to 3 years)
Our Early Starter program runs Monday to Thursday from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm, with small class sizes being a cornerstone of our approach. With a maximum of 16 children and a 1:4 educator-to-child ratio, we provide individualized support and guidance tailored to each child's needs.
Cycle 1 Program (3 to 6 years)
Our Cycle 1 class, accommodating up to 27 children, offers a vibrant and engaging learning environment. This three-year program lays the foundation for continuing Montessori education at Mitcham Primary School and other Montessori Primary Schools, where children can progress through Cycle Two and Cycle Three (Years 1 to 6).
Sessional Kindergarten (3 to 5 years)
We also offer two sessional kindergarten classes for children aged 3 to 5 years. This program is ideal for children planning to transition to Prep/Foundation in mainstream primary education while establishing a strong educational foundation in the rich world of Montessori.
The centre has a wonderful indoor / outdoor area with a beautiful sensorial garden and a herb and vegetable patch. All our students are encouraged to take care of both the classroom and outdoor environments. Walk into our Montessori rooms and you will see happy and busy children working purposefully. Great care is taken to create a learning environment and a vibrant community which reinforces the child’s independence and natural urge toward self-development and where the child learns to interact socially in a variety of ways. Our children have freedom to move around and explore the classroom, choose their own work and work at their own pace. This encourages the child to work independently and builds self-discipline and concentration. Our mission is to provide quality Montessori education in a stimulating, caring environment where children will grow to be true individuals, able to contribute to society and be motivated to bring about a better and more peaceful world.
