Richard Goodyear was drawn to Montessori Education the moment he entered the education sector in 1996, initially at Berhampore Montessori in Wellington, Aotearoa New Zealand. After 10 or so years and a couple of trainings later, he started taking on leadership and community engagement roles within the Montessori community over the ditch. Then it was time to add a new layer of challenge by entering the emerging world of Montessori adolescent education. Firstly as the Head of Junior Adolescent programme at Wā Ora Montessori School and then as Consultant Principal of Harbour Montessori College in Auckland. More recently he founded Tika Montessori and Tika Education offering consultancy work for any school or parent group interested in hands-on, meaningful, human-centered educational practices.
