Pam Staton was involved in Montessori education from 1979 to 1990 as a mother of three Montessori children, and founding member, council member and representative of Southside Montessori School in Sydney. Pam is now the grandmother of 5 Montessori young people who experienced both the Casa and the Primary years in Montessori education. Pam’s Montessori training is AMI 3-6 (1990) and AMI 0-3 (2000). She joined the staff of Inner City Montessori School in 1992 in the pre-primary and since 2004 has directed the Under 3 program for the school. With 30 years of experience in the prepared environments Pam is now consulting to Inner Sydney Montessori School. On the broader Montessori scene she has also contributed to the wider Montessori community on a state (NSWMA) and national level with (MAA) and as a board member of Montessori Australia Foundation till 2015. Pam attended the 2004 EsF Assembly in Spain and Thailand in 2015. She is supporting AMI teacher training and projects in Thailand as the chair of the Australia Thailand Montessori Supporters (ATM’s) group since 2004. After 17 trips to Thailand over this time, Pam is excited that the world is coming to Thailand for the International Montessori Congress, contributing on the IMC Program Committee in preparation for the IMC in Bangkok in 2022/23.
