Bobbie Beasley has been involved with Montessori education in Australia for over 44 years as student, parent, teacher and co-principal. She was trained by Mrs Duyker, founder of The Montessori School in Kingsley, Western Australia, which is the oldest Montessori school still operating in Australia. Since 1997 she has been Co-ordinator of the International Baccalaureate Diploma programme at the school, and since 1998 joint principal with her colleague, Ms Jane Coffey. Contributions to the wider Montessori community have included membership of the organising committee for the Montessori Centenary celebration in WA, and of the National Curriculum Advisory Committee.
