Ana Pickering is currently the Executive Officer for the Montessori Aotearoa New Zealand. She completed her Association Montessori Internationale 3-6 training in Toronto, Canada in 1991, under the guidance of Renilde Montessori. She has worked in 3-6 classes in New Zealand and the Middle East. Ana has also undertaken Montessori 6-9 training and has experience with this age group. She has led the national association in New Zealand for seven years and has experience in communicating to professionals and parents about Montessori education. Her role includes the redesign of the national magazine and website and organisation of professional development for Montessori professionals in New Zealand. In 2010 Ana is taking on an additional challenge of leading a Montessori infant-parent playgroup and is starting her Master of Education at Victoria University of Wellington. She is passionate about what Montessori can offer children from infants to late adolescence and is keen to give people beyond the Montessori community a glimpse of what respectful, personalised education can do for individuals of all ages.
