Born in Maple Creek, Alpha Gregory has taught music in Barbados (where a formal classroom was at the time an optional extra), Chetham's Hospital School of Music in England, and in schools in NSW and the ACT. She has lectured in Music Methods at the University of New England and at the University of Canberra, and has given workshops to Music Educators at all levels. She has taught early childhood music classes since 1980 and for 20 years was Artistic Director/Conductor of Woden Valley Youth Choir. A passionate advocate for music education, Alpha believes that an early start in music learning benefits the child in all facets of their development.
