Montessori Public School Forum

A forum to share ideas and practice for those working in Montessori public school programs.

Montessori in the Australian public education sector is small as yet, however these pioneering schools provide choice and access to families from every class and culture, across the nation. Montessori education is capturing the attention of a growing number of parents seeking a different way to educate their children.

The Montessori Australia Foundation seeks to support the school leaders and educators delivering Montessori public school programs and learn from their experiences to inform future development in the sector. This is the first Australian forum for Montessori in Public Schools and is specifically designed for school leaders and educators already working in this sector.

The forum will provide participants with an opportunity to share history, practice and innovation; cultivate partnership and strengthen the public Montessori education community in Australia. We will explore the underlying principles and practical frameworks which guide our work with children in Montessori public school programs. Seminar topics will be identified and facilitated by forum participants. Sessions will include opportunities to share practice and raise questions for wider group discussion.

The forum will take place at Mitcham Primary School (TBC) in Melbourne's outer East. Details of local affordable accommodation options will be provided.
