Supporting Students with Anxiety

Assist teachers, teacher aides, and school staff to increase their understanding of students presenting with anxiety and equip them with hands-on strategies for supporting these students in their classroom.

Anxiety is one of the most prevalent mental health disorders for kids and teens. In a social-media influenced, pandemic driven world, anxiety has become almost a buzzword. Anxiety is a necessary emotion that helps us to protect ourselves, and can also help up to perform. However, sometimes our brain's warning system triggers when there is only a false alarm. This false alarm system can lead to various different anxiety disorders that impact on a child's engagement at school. This workshop is designed to assist teachers, teacher aides, and school staff to increase their understanding of students presenting with anxiety and equip them with hands-on strategies for supporting these students in their classroom. There will be time for questions at the end of the workshop, so please come with any burning queries you may have!
