MONTESSORI IN ACTION: Promoting Independence, Success, Choice and Meaningful Engagement
The Montessori Ageing Support Conference is held annually in Sydney featuring leading international and national speakers.
The goal of Montessori is to create an environment where people can be as independent as possible, able to make choices and who are treated with respect and dignity. Montessori enhances quality of life and provides a platform for changing the world for people living with dementia. This is achieved by making it possible for each person to find information, meaning and purpose in their day, whilst supporting losses and circumventing deficits.
The conference will provide inspirational and practical information to meet and nurture the needs of each person, providing opportunity for success, choice, enhanced independence and self-initiated activity. Lives can be enriched through the engagement in roles, routines and activities, fostering a sense of belonging and well-being.
The conference begins with a plenary on day one followed by a conference reception. Day two features breakout workshop selections.
