Full-Time Position – Montessori Educational Leader /Room Leader (0 to 3 years) 

Start date January 2019 (or earlier by negotiation)

Montessori Children’s House Wagga is a well-established and regarded Montessori pre-school which caters for students from Early Childhood to Year 6. The pre-school follows an authentic Montessori educational approach, centred on understanding and meeting the needs of the individual child. The centre instils in children a love of learning, a sense of wonder and develops each individual child’s confidence and independent learning skills.

Due to some up-coming staffing changes we are looking to employ a Full-time 0-3 Montessori Educational Leader/Room Leader to commence at the beginning of 2019. We desire a passionate educator who will work with students, parents and staff to promote the opportunities and values that Montessori education provides.

The successful candidate will be a committed and diligent Montessori Educator who is able to work as part of the educational community at our Centre. You will have the required Early Childhood Diploma Qualifications or higher Bachelor’s Degree as well as possessing Montessori Training in 0-3 or 0-6.


Montessori Children’s House is seeking a full-time Montessori Educational Leader (part time) Room Leader (part time) who is passionate and dedicated to high quality education. The successful candidate will implement a Montessori program in partnership with Room Leaders for children aged 12 months to 6 years. The position is full time 38 hours per week between the hours of 8:00 am and 6:00 pm with 5 weeks paid annual leave per annum.

  • A strong desire to work with staff and students in an authentic Montessori environment.
  • A positive, friendly, flexible and collaborative approach
  • The ability to provide effective teaching and learning strategies whilst supporting Montessori ethos and meeting the individual needs of the students.
  • Experience in Early Learning settings
  • Knowledge of Early Years Learning Framework
  • The ability to provide individual learning experiences and monitor, record and communicate student progress.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills


You will be responsible for implementing the Montessori curriculum in alliance with the National Quality Standards across the Centre. The successful candidate will work alongside the Centre Director and Room Leaders in planning and implementing a curriculum that meets toddler and preschool outcomes. Additional responsibilities include leading a Toddler team (Room Leader) regarding all classroom educational matters and liaising with families. 

Essential Criteria: 

  • Montessori Diploma qualification 0 – 3 years or 3 - 6years 
  • Bachelor of Early Childhood Education Degree
  • Current First Aid including CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma training
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Child Protection training
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the National Quality Standards (NQS) 
  • Leadership skills in education and demonstrated ability to lead a team of classroom assistants 
  • Excellent Verbal and Written Communication 
  • Highly Motivated and able to work with minimal supervision


  • Bachelor of Early Childhood Education Degree recognised by ACECQA and NESA 
  • Experience planning and implementing a Toddler and Preschool curriculum
  • Classroom leadership experience 

Montessori Children’s House Wagga offers a traditional Montessori preschool curriculum offered within a purpose built long day care facility licensed for 96 children. The preschool is built upon a formal needs analysis for this style of education in a regional setting, established in 2016, we enjoy significant parent involvement and long waitlists. The position reports to the Owner/Centre Director.
