School Principal

Gisborne Montessori School is a small, coeducational school of approximately 150 students, educating children from birth to age 12, nestled at the foot of Mount Macedon. The school offers facilitated Playgroup sessions, Early Learning sessions, Pre-school and Primary education through to Grade 6.

After undergoing a period of significant growth over the past four years, GMS boasts a welcoming and inclusive community.  We are seeking a highly motivated leader who has a genuine desire to lead the school forward into the next important phase of its development.

You will be committed to supporting and overseeing  personalised approach to learning with a strong connection to the natural environment :

●        Have Montessori qualifications or a willingness to embrace a quality Montessori educational program, or if you do not hold a montessori qualification you will be required  to undertake some basic Montessori training.

●        Have a passion for working with children and families in a supportive, holistic manner

●        Be committed to support and develop the excellent staff team we have established

●        Work in a consultative manner to achieve agreed outcomes

●        Work constructively with the Board of Management to deliver the agreed outcomes of the school

●        Have a sound understanding of financial management in a school context

●        Have full registration with the Victorian Institute of teaching

●        Have an overarching interest in continuing the sustainability focus of the school including our horticulture, kitchen dining and animal husbandry programs

deliver high quality educational outcomes

Organisational management

and implement all necessary legislative and regulatory requirements, including
clear, evidence based plans and policies.

an ability to manage the school’s human, physical and financial resources
efficiently through strong financial management and business knowledge.

Community Engagement
Demonstrate a capacity to develop positive relationships with all members of
the school community
Demonstrate a willingness to develop connections and to promote the school in
the broader community.
