Montessori Teacher

Mālō Lava,

At Moturoa School we work in partnership to nurture our students to be respectful, globally aware, curious learners who contribute to our peaceful world.  Through our Vision and the Montessori Philosophy, we provide a process of growth where primary aged students develop powers of reason, abstraction, and imagination to wonder and explore ideas and concepts beyond their own personal experience.  We are looking for an AMI Montessori elementary guide to join our journey.

Our school has been in operation for over 10 years, and consists of two classes (6-12) within a traditional small (150 children) public school with a strong environmental focus. The school is fed by a four class casa (3-6) which is situated on a separate campus.  The position is available from the end of September 2023 dependent on immigration requirements.

New Plymouth is a city of 65,000 people.  It is situated on the west coast of New Zealand’s North island. There is a strong commitment to quality Montessori within a supportive community.  The teaching team is enthusiastic and dedicated.  Assistance with work visas and permits will be granted.

We offer the chance to move to New Zealand to become a part of our community.  The successful applicant needs to have an education qualification (such as a degree in education) which would entitle him/her to gain New Zealand teacher registration.
