About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists to take on a part-time position as a Montessori classroom teacher, teaching the 3-6 age group alongside an experienced and supportive team. The successful candidate would be adaptive and agile, highly motivated and dedicated to the outcomes of children. As a lead teacher in a 3-6 classroom, it is expected that this role models exemplary warmth and care to our students, putting their educational needs as a priority.
The following are performance expectations for this role:
- To successfully manage a classroom of 20 children while offering strong educational outcomes for 3-6 aged students.
- To ensure a strong commitment to the Montessori method in the modern education environment.
- To work with the Primary teaching staff and Pre-primary teaching staff on student transitions to Primary.
- To work as an active member of the School Team, collaborating with the 3-6 teachers and assistants to create a consistent educational offering for all students.
- To demonstrate excellent communication skills.
- To demonstrate flexibility and agility.
- To demonstrate initiative and a can-do attitude.
- To demonstrate professional integrity.
Essential Qualifications
- AMI 3-6 Diploma
- A recognised Early Childhood Teaching Degree level of qualification or similar as approved by ACECQA.
- Child protection qualification approved by QLD Regulatory Authority – valid Working with Children Check.
- Hold certification in HLTAID004 Provide first aid in an education and care setting.
