Casual Educator

Our peaceful Community Kindergarten is looking for a casual Educator for 2023 

We are a Community Kindy with one group of 22, three and four year old children attending from 8-3.30pm on Monday and Tuesday or Thursday and Friday with an optional Wednesday.  

The successful applicant would be available for casual work, including a block from the 19th April - 12th May Wednesday to Friday 7.30am – 4pm and another block in Term 3/4.

• Hours 7.30am - 4pm including paid lunch with the children (optional shorter day 8-2.30/3pm)

Key Selection Criteria: 

• Certificate 3 or Diploma of Children’s Services 
• Blue Card and First Aid Certification are required 
• Experience of Montessori Philosophy (or willingness to learn) 
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to relate to children, parents and staff with warmth and respect.  
• A willingness to work as a reliable and collaborative team member  
• Ability to remain calm, kind, caring, consistent and professional with children and their families 
• Ability to obtain a Working with Children Blue Card. 
• Ability to work in a Queensland early childhood education service  

Your responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to: 

• Work in accordance with the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Law, Education and Care Services National Regulations and the National Quality Standard, Lady Gowrie Community Kindergarten Policies and Procedures. 
• Prepare the environment, create, and maintain activities 
• Keep the environment in good order and clean  
• Report to the centre Director who is also the ECT and Educational Leader 
• Attend paid staff meetings twice a term for 2 hours 

We also have a daily Montessori playgroup, in our Montessori Infants’ House. The parent/carer and child attend from 8.30-10.30 for guided Montessori play/activities with a facilitator and an optional group time. Families attend on the same day each week and numbers are limited.
