Established in 1984 and operating out of beautiful premises in Narraweena on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, Karuna is a small, nurturing, not-for-profit community Preschool with a maximum enrolment of 30 students across the 3-6 age range. Karuna provides an authentic Montessori educational approach which centres on understanding and meeting the needs of the individual child, instilling a love of learning, a sense of wonder and developing each child’s confidence and independent learning skills. The school has a large, open classroom and a beautiful, natural outdoor environment with enticing equipment and lovely garden. At full enrolment, there are 5 staff. Karuna operates between the hours of 8:00am - 4:00pm during school terms.
Karuna Montessori Preschool are seeking a 3-6 Montessori Assistant to commence as soon as possible or at the beginning of Term 2, 2023.
We are looking for a caring, passionate and experienced classroom Assistant who is keen to become part of a highly dedicated, caring and professional team of educators.
Key attributes for this role include:
- A suitable Montessori qualification and/or experience working with this age group
- A warm and caring manner
- Ability to work collaboratively with a dedicated team of educators
Other requirements include:
- A Certificate III or Diploma in Children Services as approved by Australian Children’s Education and Quality Authority (ACECQA)
- Valid Working with Children Check
- Experience working in a Montessori 3-6 Environment
- First Aid Certificate and Asthma & Anaphylaxis training (can be provided)
