Seeking Staff for our Growing Adolescent Montessori Program

(Secondary School Year 7-12)

2023 and Beyond (Part-time)

Located in Pymble, Sydney, Northside Montessori School is a well-established and regarded Montessori school which caters for students from Early Childhood, Primary and Secondary. Northside has long been committed to offering a robust and authentic Montessori education.

We are seeking staff for our new but growing Adolescent Program for a range of roles. We require staff for a variety of key learning areas including, but not limited to, Mathematics, Mandatory Technology and Visual Arts. We currently base our curriculum on the work of Dr Montessori while also accommodating the requirements of NESA. We have established Year 7 and 8 and will add a grade per year. We intend to commence the IB program in conjunction with our Montessori ethos for Years 11 and 12. Our program has a blossoming range of micro-economies, occupations, community connections, place-based pedagogy and off campus learning.

The ideal applicant will be suitably qualified with a Teaching Degree, have the right to work in Australia and be eligible for Teacher Accreditation through the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA). A willingness to undertake specific Montessori Adolescent Teacher Training is necessary and experience working within a Montessori School is preferred. A creative, flexible approach to teaching, a willingness to work collaboratively with staff and families and a determination to be a life-long learner are also essential qualities of any candidate. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and problem-solving skills, and experience serving diverse learning needs. Candidates will be considered based on specialization area, skill set and curriculum experience. A passion for working with the adolescent age group is a must. This position offers the opportunity to be part of a closely collaborative team of guides in a supportive and positive teaching environment.

Your responsibilities may include planning, development, facilitating the delivery of, each individual student’s learning plan, including assessment and reporting of achievement against the curriculum standards.

Other requirements include

  • Valid NSW Working with Children Check
  • First Aid Certificate and Asthma & Anaphylaxis training (can be provided)
  • NESA Teacher Accreditation
