Room Leader & Assistant Educator

We are a family owned and operated Montessori service in Chapel Hill that embraces holistic inspired learning and development of our children. We provide spacious, well-resourced, and stimulating environments that enable educators to build strong, meaningful relationships with children and are supportive of children's strengths and interests. The purpose-built Montessori Children’s House is a long day care centre catering for children aged 0-6 years old for up to 75 children a day. With 5 spacious classrooms and with the new year 2023 we are all set to offer this rare opportunity to join the team.

We are seeking a Room Leader and an Assistant Educator with a certificate III or diploma or equivalent to join our team.

We require a passionate, inspiring, friendly, committed, and energetic individual who will be part of the below.

The skills and experience we are looking for:

  • Certificate lll in Children’s Services or Diploma of Children’s Services or working towards the qualification
  • A current and valid working with children card and First Aid (including CPR)
  • An understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework and the National Quality Standards
  • Knowledge of the stages of physical, emotional, cognitive, social, and cultural development of children
  • The capability to engage children through activities and experiences appropriate for age groups/stages of development
  • Knowledge of health, hygiene and the nutrition need of children
  • An interest or experience in Montessori education and or willingness to undertake training and professional development  
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to build positive relationships with staff, children, families, and the community
