Montessori Primary Teacher – 6-11 years

Southside Montessori School is a boutique, independent and co-educational school located in the South-West of Sydney. Our campus borders the Georges River and surrounding wetlands, with beautiful native bushland and wildlife that hold a special connection for our children and their families. Our community school offers authentic Montessori education for children from 3-12 years of age. Southside hosts a Premier Teacher Training Centre onsite, where aspiring Montessori guides are trained by internationally acclaimed teacher trainers from Sydney Montessori Training Centre.

The opportunity

Southside Montessori School is committed to providing an authentic Montessori curriculum. We are seeking a qualified Primary school teacher who is motivated and passionate about Montessori philosophy and its implementation.  We are inviting applications for the position of Cycle 2/3 Montessori Educator (6-9/9-12 years), with the position commencing immediately. This is a full- time position that requires team teaching for 3 days of the week, sharing a small class of 18 students with an experienced teacher. There is flexibility for the teacher to work full or part time and this can be negotiated on appointment. Essential criteria

  • A recognised Primary Education degree approved by the New South Wales Education Standards Authority (NESA);
  • A reputable and Australian recognised 6-12 Montessori qualification
  • Ability to obtain a WWCC (Working With Children Check);
  • A relevant First Aid Certificate and Child Protection training, as approved by NESA, or willingness to obtain;
  • Current CPR & Asthma, Anaphylaxis training
