Animal and Land Care Officer (ALCO)

Gisborne Montessori School is looking for an Animal and Land Care Officer. GMS is located 30 minutes north of Melbourne Airport and is an easy commute along the freeway from both metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria. 

Main responsibilities include:

  • Animal Management Program (including donkeys, sheep, chickens, alpacas, goats, birds, guinea pigs and fish)
  • Kitchen Community Garden
  • Water management and resource conservation
  • Wetlands management
  • Identify and prioritise projects 
  • Develop programs for student education (Animals, Wetlands and Kitchen Garden)
  • Cost analysis and functionality
  • Develop and implement educational farm stay programs
  • Annual and Strategic Planning - Animal Program Land Conversation, Water Management
  • Be a member of the Buildings and Sites Committee
  • Potential to deliver Certificates to students in Animal Studies and Land Conservation by 2024 (upskilling and training provided, if required).

Preference given to applicants with Certificates in Animal Studies, Captive Animal Management and/or Land Care. 

Working with Children's Check required.
