Montessori 3-6yrs Diploma Educator    

Brunswick Montessori Children's House is a small, non-profit Montessori centre offering both 0-3 and 3-6 Montessori programmes. 

We are seeking a passionate AMI trained 3-6 Montessori Educator to work with our dedicated team to deliver a high quality Montessori programme for our cycle 1 children, while building strong relationships with our families and community. If successful, you will be working within beautiful surroundings that have been purpose built in line with the Montessori philosophy along with a well-equipped classroom and facilities. 

We are looking for a Montessori Educator who is:

  • Passionate about the importance of Montessori Early Childhood Education.
  • Committed to and actively supports the goal of providing best practice Montessori education, care and services to children and their families.
  • Self-motivated, honest, reliable, flexible, and willing to show initiative and to learn and grow within the centre. 
  • Has the ability to foster warm and caring relationships with all families and children.
  • Be motivated to work within a team environment.  We have a very team inspired focus, and everyone shares the responsibility for cleaning, material making, preparation of the Montessori equipment each day etc.
  • Well organised and with attention to detail.

In your role you will;

  • Work alongside our Lead Montessori Educator you will be responsible for the implementation of the 3 to 6 Montessori programme.
  • Ensure quality documentation of children’s learning which is in accordance with the service philosophy and the learning outcomes.
  • Provide regular information about the educational programme, as well as the learning and development of individual children to families on a regular basis across a variety of means of communication.
  • Contribute to an effective process of induction and orientation for new families and children. 
  • Alongside the Lead Educator, you will provide additional services for current and future families including parent education sessions and tours.  
  • Promote reflection on methods of documenting the educational program which ensures a consistent approach and supports the ongoing cycle of review including planning, documenting and evaluation.

Hours / Days of Work:  29hrs per week, Monday – Thursday, School Terms only

Industrial Agreement/Award: Victorian Early Childhood Teachers and Educators Agreement 2016 (VECTEA)

To be considered for this vacancy, you must possess the following:

  • AMI 3-6 Montessori Diploma (approved ACECQA Diploma level)
  • Current WCC (Working with Children Check)
  • Current certification in First Aid, Anaphylaxis and Asthma

This position may also open up the opportunity to work with our Montessori Parent/Toddler group as a facilitator.  If this was to occur, it would be additional hours on either a Friday or Saturday.
