Godly Play Story Telling Workshop

This workshop will support adults in how to use stories with children as well as their peers in both religious and secular settings.

These stories are for promoting thought and exploration. It will be a workshop appropriate for Montessori teachers of all age groups, parents, religious education teachers, religious leaders, and aged care workers/caregivers.

Judyth Roberts is both a Godly Play trainer and a Deep Talk trainer and is also part of 'OutoftheBox Training'. Deep Talk is a wellbeing tool, developed out of Godly Play, that can be used in a variety of school and workplace settings and is also often used to help organisations collaboratively reflect and improve themselves.

Godly Play is a Montessori method of telling Bible stories, developed by Jerome Berryman, using parables, sacred stories and liturgical lessons about religious traditions using simple, natural materials.

Imagine creating a sacred space, a safe place for children to work in community, using religious language and ritual to make connections and discover meaning…

We respect children and their ability to use their hands, minds, hearts and intuition to explore their spiritual needs. We trust the process of story, wonder and play to offer children time and space for this deep work.

In this workshop we will share a story and response, then we'll have time to debrief the experience. We'll explore questions and materials as well as some history of this movement and recently evolved storytelling methods Deep Talk and OutoftheBox.
