The Fifth Great Lesson
Exploring the Story of Numbers for 6-12 Educators.
Cosmic Education introduces children in our 6-9 Montessori classrooms to the wonders of the world. They are designed to awaken their curiosity and imagination, and to give them a big picture of all topics in the primary curriculum from the universe, life, humans, communications and finally the Fifth Great Lesson - The Story of Numbers, also known as the History of Mathematics. The last story about how mathematical understanding developed across many continents and many centuries often doesn’t get same attention as the Story of the Universe, but it’s equally important in helping to build students’ awareness and excitement of maths concepts they use daily.
