Christine Harrison has been involved in Montessori education since 1984 and was Head of School at Canberra Montessori School, one of the largest Montessori schools in Australia, for over 20 years. As well as educational leadership, Christine has a background in mediation, mentoring, conflict management and adult education with an emphasis on empowering individuals and building good communication skills. She was the founding President of Montessori Australia, Chair of the ACT Association of Independent Schools, Board Member of Independent Schools Australia, and a panelist for the 2nd Tier Review Panel of ACECQA. For the past 15 years she has worked as a consultant and mentor for Montessori schools and childcare centres. Christine has served on the Board of the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) for the past 8 years and is currently on the board of the Canberra Montessori School and a Director of Eucalyptus Montessori in Canberra.

Christine co-founded and developed the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) Administrators Certificate Course and is an AMI Administrator Trainer for this course which she has given in several cities in China, Thailand, USA, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Mexico, France and South Africa. She has presented at Montessori conferences in Europe, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Mexico, Australia, China and the USA and is committed to her work with Montessori in underserved communities around the world. In her spare time, Christine is a Marriage and Funeral Celebrant and enjoys being with her family, especially her two grandchildren who are now 16 and 9 and who both attended Montessori schools.
